Abortion care

Brook will happily see patients to discuss their options but patients can self-refer to RCHT by phoning 01872 226720 (9am – 4pm, Monday to Friday) or emailing ciosicb.health@nhs.net or by visiting the MSI website


Contraceptive services for non-contraceptive reasons

Unfortunately we are only able to offer contraception to prevent pregnancy. If you would like contraception for any of the following, your GP can help.

  • The contraceptive pill to delay periods
  • HRT or the replacement of IUS when used as the progestogenic component of HRT,
  • Treatment of heavy menstrual bleeding if contraception is NOT required
  • Patients who are not sexually active and do not anticipate having sex.
  • Treatment of PCOS or endometriosis beyond the use of contraception

Fertility treatment

Cervical screening or colposcopy

Contact your GP to get a smear test (cervical screening) or colposcopy.

Diagnosis and management of non STI related conditions (including recurrent BV or Thrush)

Management of community/occupational needlestick injuries

Contact your employer's Occupational Health service if you injure yourself at work. Otherwise call your GP, NHS 111 or go to the nearest accident and emergency (A&E) department.


Vaccinations
  • Travel vaccinations: Contact your GP
  • HPV vaccination for school-aged children: This is offered as part of the school immunisation programme. People under the age of 25 who missed getting vaccinated as part of the school programme can contact their GP for free vaccination.
  • Hepatitis vaccination for work: Speak to your employer about getting vaccinated

Treatment for HIV

This is provided by Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust. Find out more about the HIV treatment and support service on their website


Occupational BBV screening

Speak to your employers occupational health department or contact your GP.


STI testing and proof of results for non-sexual health reasons, e.g. work, medical treatment

If you need this for your employment, speak to your employers occupational health department. Otherwise speak to your GP.
